Frankie Edgar wrestles his way to a unanimous decision victory:

The featured bout of the UFC 205 Prelims, sees a Featherweight contest between Frankie 'The Answer' and Jeremy 'Lil Heathen' Stephens. Edgar last lost a decision to Jose Aldo at UFC 200 in the pairs Interim Featherweight title clash, while Stephens, found a way past former UFC Bantamweight champion Renan Barão. Referee Keith Peterson got us underway with a timid tart, with Stephens stuffing a takedown attempt early on. Edgar once again shot for a low double leg, but was once again denied by Stephens. Stephens was momentarily taken down but got straight back up with a minute and half left in the first round. The fight was then stopped for a moment, after an accidental eye poke by Stephens on Edgar. The first round ended with Stephens loading up on his strikes. The second round began with Jeremy landing a good leg kick, before Edgar landed a body kick of his own. Edgar landed a substantial takedown, before Stephens got back to his feet. Then a huge head kick from Stephens dropped Edgar and looked likel;y to finish, then a explosive double leg from Edgar setup a deep guillotine that Stephens somehow survived to see the third and final round. Stephens the opened with a leg kick which wobbled Edgar. Edgar then shot for a single leg, and wound up in half guard. A kimura attempt from the bottom by Stephens was easily defended by Edgar. A slug feast insued toward the end of the fight, with the pair going the distance. A unanimous decision as handed to Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar.
