Menifield and Clark were expected to meet at UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City on May 2nd. - until the entire card was cancelled, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 32-year-old contender, Menifield, will make his third Octagon appearance, following his promotion from Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series back in June of 2018. Clark, who took a unanimous decision triumph over Dequan Townsend in February will take his promotional record to 6-4 with a win over Menifield. News of the slated matchup was first reported by BJPenn.com reporter, Cole Shelton.

Saekson's Muay Thai trainee, Menifield has found matchups in the promotion rather difficult to find. The 32-year-old has managed two statement wins over Vinicius Moreira, and Paul Craig, but has seen pairings with the aforementioned Clark, Trevor Smith, and Saparbeg Safarov all fall to the wayside. Menifield has also featured under the LFA, RFA, and Bellator MMA banner before signing a UFC contract back in 2018. His meeting with Clark in June will mark his first Octagon walk since the end of June last year.

Former RFA light heavyweight champion, Clark - suffered his first professional defeat in his UFC debut back in July of 2016, having amassed six consecutive victories prior. The 30-year-old returned to 205-pounds following the blemish to Alex Nicholsen, taking two straight decision wins over Josh Stansbury and Jake Collier. Clark has gone through a topsy-turvy time in the Octagon so far, dropping losses to contenders, Jan Bƚachowicz, Aleksandar Rakić, and Ryan Spann. Sandwiched between those defeats, Clark picked up notable victories over Mike Rodríguez, Darko Stošić, and the aforementioned, Townsend.

UFC 250 will take place on June 6th. from a location and venue yet to be disclosed by the promotion. In a featherweight title pairing, Amanda Nunes looks to attempt the first defence of her throne, as she welcomes former Invicta FC titleholder, Felicia Spencer.
