A UFC bantamweight meeting between top-fifteen ranked flyweight contenders, Jordan Espinosa, and Mark 'Bumblebee' De La Rosa is currently in the works to feature at a UFC Fight Night on June 13th. - with a location and venue yet to be officially announced by the promotion.

Espinosa was initially scheduled to meet with Zhalgas Zhumagulov on June 13th., however, that pairing has now been scrapped after the promotion's decision to relocate the event from Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. The 30-year-old is attempting to prevent a three-fight losing streak, while 125-pound counterpart, De La Rosa, will drop a fourth-straight defeat with a loss to Espinosa on June 13th. News of the targeted pairing was first reported by The Schmozone hosts, The Schmo and Helen Yee.

Albuquerque based all-rounder, Espinosa arrived in the promotion back in March of last year, despite securing two consecutive victories on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series in both 2018 and 2017. The 30-year-old managed to take a unanimous decision win over Eric Shelton in his premier Octagon appearance, however, it has been anything but plain sailing under the UFC banner since. With two first-round submission losses, Espinosa lost momentum with a triangle, and arm-triangle defeats to Matt Schnell, and Alex Perez, respectively.

De La Rosa, 25, like Espinosa, hasn't enjoyed the most fruitful excursion in the promotion. After a debut loss to former title challenger, Tim Elliott via a second-round anaconda, the Fort Worth native rebounded with wins over Elias Garcia, and a close judging against Joby Sanchez. The aforementioned Perez also handed De La Rosa a defeat, before the Factory X trainee dropped losses to Kai Kara-France, and Raulian Paiva. De La Rosa, who began his professional career back in 2014, amassed an eye-catching 9-0 record before putting pen to paper on a UFC contract.
