Amanda Ribas vs. Paige VanZant Targeted for Rescheduling at UFC Event on July 11th.

A rescheduled matchup between Amanda Ribas and Paige '12 Gauge' VanZant has been verbally agreed to for a UFC event on July 11th. - with 'Fight Island' a potential suitor for the card.

The two were scheduled to meet at UFC Fight Night Brasília in March - until VanZant was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering a fractured arm, for the third time. Ribas went on to clash with short-notice replacement, Randa 'Quiet Storm' Markos - extending her unbeaten run in the promotion to three-fights. The re-mapped matching is expected to take place at 125-pounds rather than 115-pounds as originally scheduled. News of the targeted bout was initially reported by Combate writer, Raphael Marinho.

Since her Octagon bow back in June of last year - 26-year-old finisher, Ribas has enjoyed ultimate success. A rear-naked choke win over prospect, Emily Whitmire kicked-things off - before a statement performance over the then-undefeated, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Mackenzie Dern at UFC Fight Night Tampa last October. The Minas Gerais native has only faltered once in her professional career, during her three-fight stint with home country promotion, Jungle Fight - dropping a unanimous decision loss to Polyana Viana.

26-year-old prospect, VanZant - recently returned to the win column, with an armbar win over Rachael Ostovich last January. Following an excellent start in the promotion - which resulted in a trio of victories over Kailin Curran, Felice Herrig, and Alex Chambers - she faltered for the first time under the UFC banner. VanZant dropped a rear-naked choke to former strawweight titleholder, 'Thug' Rose Namajunas in a high-profile UFC Fight Night Las Vegas headliner in December 2015.

After a highlight-reel switch-kick knockout of Bec Rawlings, VanZant dropped another submission loss, this time to former Invicta FC atomweight pacesetter, Michelle Waterson. Before her most recent win against Ostovich - the Oregon native lost a unanimous decision to Jessica Rose-Clark - where she suffered a broken forearm.
