Jussier Formiga vs. Alex Perez slated for UFC 250 in June

A meeting of perennial flyweight challenger, Jussier Formiga, and emerging force, Alex Perez, is set to feature on the second instalment of UFC 250 on June 6th. - with a venue, and location yet to be confirmed.
Brazilian grappler, Formiga, recently dropped a decision defeat to former LFA flyweight best. Brandon 'The Assassin Baby' Moreno at UFC Fight Night Brasília - his second consecutive defeat. California native, Perez, moved to 5-1 under the promotion's banner back at UFC Fight Night Raleigh in January, via an arm-triangle victory over Jordan Espinosa - his second consecutive triumph. News of the slated matchup was first reported by Combate writer, Raphael Marinho.
Formiga, 35, seen an impressive four-fight win streak snapped by three-time title challenger, Joseph Benavidez back in June of last year, via a late second-round knockout. Before the loss, Formiga had notched victories over Deiveson Figueiredo, Sergio Pettis, Ben Nguyen, and Ulka Sasaki. The recent American Top Team mover began his Octagon stint back in October 2012 and has established a 9-6 record with the organization.
Since his migration to the UFC from Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, 27-year-old all-rounder, Perez, has managed to add some eye-catching names to his win column. The Team Oyama mainstay holds victories over the likes of Eric Shelton, Jose 'Shorty' Torres, and Mark De La Rosa. Perez earned a clash with the previously mentioned, Benavidez back in November of 2018 - losing via an opening-round knockout, following an earlier mistake from referee Yves Lavinge. The loss to 'Joey Two Times' marked Perez's first loss in eight outings.
UFC 250 will take place on June 6th. with a location and venue still yet to be disclosed for the rescheduled event. Reigning featherweight champion, Amanda Nunes is expected to attempt the first defence of her title when she meets with former Invicta FC 145-pound best, Felicia Spencer - after the two's first meeting at UFC 249 this weekend was shelved.
