Gabriel Benítez vs. Omar Morales slated for UFC event on May 13th.

A lightweight pairing between submission-specialist, Gabriel 'Moggly' Beníŧez, and undefeated prospect, Omar Morales is set to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on May 13th. at the VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
Baja California born grappler, Benítez takes on Morales - attempting to return to the win-column, following a knockout defeat to Sodiq Yusuff at UFC 241 last August. Morales, on the other hand, was recently pulled from a short-notice pairing with Alexander 'The Great' Hernandez at UFC 249, and puts his undefeated record up against Benítez instead. News of the matchup was initially reported by ESPN.
American Kickboxing Academy mainstay, Benítez, seen his two-fight rise halted by Yusuff last summer in an opening-round knockout. Before the loss, Benítez had notched wins over Humberto Bandenay, and Jason 'The Kid' Knight. The 31-year-old began his Octagon stint back at UFC 180 in 2014 - securing other notable victories over Clay Collard, and Sam Sicilia. Beníŧez who holds a professional record of 21-7 has only dropped his other UFC defeats to Andre Fili, and Enrique Barzola.
Venezuelan all-rounder, Morales, who plys his trade with Henri Hooft at Hard Knocks 365 in Florida - has made a blistering start to his Octagon stint. The one time Bellator prospect made his way to the UFC via an opening-round knockout over Harvey Park on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series - in August of last year. The 9-0 contender then went on to take a decision shutout against Dong Hyun Ma at UFC Fight Night Busan in December last.
The UFC Fight Night event takes place on May 13th. from the VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida - with a light heavyweight meeting between former title challenger, Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira serving as event headliner. Making his heavyweight debut, Ovince Saint Preux tackles the aforementioned, Ben Rothwell. At 125-pounds, former championship contender, Ray Borg meets with Ricky Simón. In a bantamweight meeting, Sijara Eubanks takes on Canada's, Sarah Moras. In a heavyweight tie, Andrei Arlovski is expected to welcome promotional newcomer, Philipe Lins to the Octagon. In middleweight action, Karl Roberson is set to take on Marvin Vettori. In a lightweight matchup, the aforementioned Hernandez takes on Drew Dober at 155-pounds.
