Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov in a coma in a Moscow military hospital

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the trainer and father of UFC lightweight champion, Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov is in a coma in a military hospital in the Russian capital of Moscow - where he's believed to be in a critical condition - according to Russian outlet, RT.

The 57-year-old was hospitalised in his native Dagestan in April with suspected pneumonia, however, it's now believed there have been complications. Nurmagomedov was flown to Moscow on a special flight last week after experiencing heart problems, where he is currently in a critical condition. A source explained how family are unable to visit the renowned sambo trainer.

"Abdulmanap (Nurmagomedov) is in a bad condition, he's in Moscow and in a coma. They didn't treat him properly in Dagestan, and some complications arose. They flew him to Moscow, where he is now in a military hospital. He's on his own there, they won't allow family (visit)."

On an Instagram live session today, Islam Makhachev, a training partner of Khabib at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California - confirmed that Nurmagomedov was in a critical condition. "He is in Moscow, he is in (sic) critical condition," Makhachev explained.

Nurmagomedov, who has struggled to obtain a VISA to enter the United States for his son Khabib's fights - attended UFC 242 last September, as part of Nurmagomedov's corner on his way to a unification of the lightweight titles against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi.
