It seems this ongoing spat between UFC lightweight champion, Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov, and 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor is far from a conclusion. Both men are sworn enemies for the last eighteen months at this stage, with their respective war of words growing in intensity by the barb.

Nurmagomedov was one of the victims of a lengthy Twitter tirade by McGregor last night, where he called the Dagestan sambo-specialist, "the biggest bottle fighter in the game", as well detailing how he would be next to face recently crowned interim 155-pound champion, Justin Gaethje, rather than Khabib. In another tweet, the 31-year-old referred to Nurmagomedov as a "rat" and "a man who hugs legs" - drawing a series of responses from Nurmagomedov.

"Yes, we remember you, you was (sic) so nice that night, be same, don't be fake."

Nurmagomedov then spoke of the two's heated UFC 229 lightweight title meeting in October of 2018 - explaining how he made McGregor, "grab air with your (his) hands, and at the end you gave up."

"Hug leg? Have you forgot how I knock you down, or you typing tweets drunk? Beat you in striking, parts you in wrestling, absolutely destroy you in grappling. Made you grab air with your hands, and at the end you gave up. Last one, don't forget your words 'it's only business'."

In a final tweet aimed at the Dubliner, Nurmagomedov posted of picture of McGregor after his rear-naked choke loss, as Herb Dean separated the two at UFC 229.

"You don't like legs?"

These series of barbs fired at McGregor drew a response from the Crumlin native, as he posted a pair of tweets which have since been removed from his official account.

"Yes, hug legs. Hug legs and bathe in tiny bathtubs with groups of men, while touching their legs. What the f**k is going on here? How can this country condemn/punish homosexuals, yet lock their wives and children away, and engage solely in this type of activity. Male only. It's quite bizarre."
