'Cowboy' Cerrone inks new fight with Kelvin Gastelum while Chris Weidman faces Yoel Romero:

Exciting Welterweight pairing Donald 'Cowboy' Ceone and Kelvin Gastelum will square off at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden, New York. Cerrone, fresh off a brutal combination knock out of Rick  Story had agreed to face former UFC Welterweight king pin 'Ruthless' Robbie Lawler at e inaugural UFC event in New York, but the latter pulled out of the fight, stating how his most recent loss to Tyron 'The Chosen One' Woodley was the reason he has taken some much deserved time to recuperate, particularly after his consecutive 5 round battles against now Bellator welterweight Rory McDonald and Carlos 'The Natural Born Killer' Condit. Cerrone, has looked unbeatable since his jump form Lightweight to Welterweight picking up victories over 'Cowboy' Oliveira, Patrick Côté and Rick Story along the way to leave him the #7 ranked Welterweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Explosive wrestler Kelvin Gastelum is also back to winning ways picking up arguably the most important victory in his UFC career at UFC 200, where he cleverly outpointed former UFC Welterweight champ Johnny 'Big Rig' Hendricks on the way to a decision victory. Gastelum had been coming off a split decision loss to Neil many but holds eye catching victories against Uriah 'Primetime' Hall, Rick Story, Jake Ellenberger and Nate 'The Great' Marquardt in his career.

Former UFC Middleweight champion Chris Weidman looks to make his return to the octagon a successful one when he and Yoel Romero face each other at UFC 205. Weidman was stopped for the first time in his UFC career by Luke Rockhold at UFC 194 as he subsequently loss his Middleweight title after three successful title defences, against Anderson 'The Spider' SIlva, Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort. Weidman was completely outclassed on the feet by Rockhold before being finished on the mat. Rockhold was meant to have his first title defence against Weidman but the latter pulled out citing a back injury and was later replaced by Michael Bisping, with the English man shocking the world on his way to a knockout victory to win his first ever Middleweight title. Cuban Yoel Romero has been under the microscope recently after a anti doping violation discovered by USADA ruled him out for 6 months after a supplement he was taking contained a growth hormone stimulant which was on disclosed on the label. Romero fought on the UFC 194 card picking up a split decision victory over Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza. Both Rockhold and Souza will square off in Australia in November with both men looking to face the winner of Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson when they battle for a second time at UFC 204 in Manchester. Yoel's career has not been under scrutiny just for his anti doping violation, but also for his bout with Tim Kennedy as the Cuban wrestler took a prolonged period of time to get off his stool between rounds, subsequently taking more than the allotted 1 minute rest bite and therefore, recovery after being rocked earlier in the fight. Romero eventually gave Kennedy his first stoppage loss in 13 years when he stopped him in the 3 round.
