Leicester City V Burnley:

Leicester City v Burnley: Premier League champions Leicester City returned from their excursions in the UEFA Champions League with a home fixture against promoted side Burnley. Leicester won away to Club Brugge in the midweek European ties winning 3-0 to earn three points in a difficult group. Burnley's last outing came at Turf Moor with a 1-1 draw with fellow promoted side Hull City. Audio Ranieri handed debuts to club record signing Islam Slimani and former Manchester United keeper Ron-Robert Ziegler with Sean Dyche handed a ful debut to club record signing Jeff Hendrick. It was all quite throughout the opening 20 odd minutes before PFA player of the year winner Riyad Mahrez produced a stop from Tom Heaton from a tight angle. The visitors wasted a glorious opportunity to take the lead when Belgian playmaker Steven Defour seen his header straight down the throat of German keeper Zieler. Leicester finally seized the initiative when a delicious delivery form a Christian Fuchs free kick picked out the head of Algerian forward Islam Slimani who rose higher than Ben Mee and powered past Heaton to grab a debut goal at the King Power stadium before the interval. Leicester came out in the second half gunning for an early double with Riyad Mahrez the man to capitalise on a Dean Marney mistake before finding Slimani at the back post where the former Sporting Lisbon favourite grabbed his second of the afternoon to put sorry Burnley to the sword. A quick counter attack late on from Ranieri's champions sealed all three points when Riyad Mahrez, again at the fore front, delivered a tricky ball into the danger area where Ben Mee could only put it into his own net to sum up a torrid afternoon for Sean Dyche's side.
