England manager Sam Allardyce steps down.
England manager Sam Allardyce has decided to resign from his post following a sting operation by Daily Telegraph journalists. Allardyce was filmed telling how it was possible to "get around" he FA rule which banned third parties from owning player economic rights, as well as mocking former England coach Roy Hodgson and Prince Harry telling how the latter was "a very naughty boy", shockingly, 'Big Sam' also told how the FA was "all about making money". Allardyce had taken over from Roy Hogdson less than three months ago after a shocking Euro 2016 performance from the Three Lions which seen them eventually knocked out by minnows Iceland. the former West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers head coach has gained support from former Crystal Palace manager Iain Dowie who believed Allardyce was just stating "facts". Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has also jumped to defend Allardyce calling the undercover journalists who carried out the sting "embarrassing" The decision from Allardyce to step down now leaves the English FA with another selection headache as they look to replace the man who only took charge of 1 international game for the Three Lions.
