Dana White warns of "left field" Conor McGregor announcement after UFC 205:

UFC president Dana White has warned the MMA world of a "left field" announcement form current UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor after the Dubliner's Lightweight title contest with Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in New York. McGregor's decision to pursue the Lightweight title and become the first ever multiple weight champion held at the same time, has forced current Interim Featherweight champion Jose Aldo to consider his future and just earlier in the week asked for his contract to be terminated. It is not only Aldo who has been affected by Conor's endeavours, with #1 ranked UFC Lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov forced to take on Michael 'The Menace' Johnson at UFC 205 rather than getting his deserved title shot against Alvarez at either UFC 205 or 206. Many have speculated what McGregor's announcement may be with many suggesting the Irishman could be on the verge of retiring form the sport. We have to remember a recent interview with the Irishman in which he told how he would set the sport "alight" before leaving, and has always preached "get in, get rich and get the f**k out of there". Others suggest it could be the long awaited boxing match with 49-0 Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, these rumours has some backup behind it with McGregor telling at the UFC 205 press conference how the sport may not have much more to offer him and how he may have to "drag Floyd Mayweather out of bed". Whatever the announcement may be, it seems the world will have to wait until the conclusion of UFC 205 before the "left field" announcement is made.
