Dustin Poirier v Michael Johnson: What just happened

The main event of UFC Fight Night Hidalgo seen an intriguing Lightweight battle between 4 fight win streak holder Dustin 'The Diamond' Poirier and powerful Michael 'The Menace' Johnson.  Johnson, sporting his blue and black shorts looking poised for battle as the UFC veteran looked at his 15th fight in the organisation. Poirier looked equally confident signing to his walkout song as the crowd embraced the Lafayette, Louisiana native. Dan Miragliotta got us underway in this much anticipated 5 round battle. The two southpaws looked to settle in early on with Johnson landing a decent counter shot. Poirier looked to target the lead leg of Johnson with vicious kicks early. Both men engaged as Johnson threw a vicious right hand with a left behind it that slept Poirier before 'The Menace' pounced on the downed Poirier and finished with strikes to end his 2 fight losing streak and to put an end to 'The Diamond's' 4 fight win streak.
