Sunderland v Crystal Palace:
David Moyes' Sunderland side welcomed Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace to the Stadium of Light as Moyes' looked for his first win in the Premier League season. Pardew's Palace on the other hand, looked for their 4th victory after their 4-1 victory over Stoke City last Sunday. Sunderland had the best chances of a tame first period with Jermain Defoe seeing his flick go just wide of Steve Mandanda's post. Sunderland took the lead moments later as a result of Joe Ledley mistake, some good pressuring form Adnan Januzaj forced the Welsh midfielder into a back pass which ultimately fell short finding the oncoming Jermain Defoe who slotted past Steve Mandanda's to give his side the lead heading into the break. Adnan Januzaj was the next man to have a lapse in concentration as Jason Puncheon forced Jordan Pickford into a good save after the Belgian's mistake. On the hour mark, Defoe grabbed his second after slipping par Mandanda's to steal 3 precious points. Palace found an immediate response as Joe Ledley seen his strike deflect off Patrick Van Aanholt, wrong footing Pickford in the process. Lee Cattermole picked out Defoe at the other end but the former Spurs man squandered his hatrick opportunity. Former Manchester United youth academy graduate Zeki Fryers found James McArthur in the area and the Scottish midfielder levelled for Pardew's side. Sunderland will be kicking themselves as with just four minutes to go, Manquillo conceded a needless free kick and summer signing Christian Benteke powered home to steal all three points and complete a huge comeback.
