Roy Nelson v Antonio Silva What just happened.

UFC Heavyweights Roy 'Big Country' Nelson and Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva squared off on the main card of UFC Fight Night 95. Nelson, the Ultimate Fighter season 10 winner faced off against Silva who's main wins come against Fedor Emelianenko and Alistair Overeem, has some scary power in those hands, while both men have incredible Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ground games. 'Bigfoot' made his way to the octagon looking to avenge his defeat against Dutch giant Stefan Struve here he was stopped early in the first round, and looked confident as ever and particularly focused ahead of his clash with Nelson. The American Nelson also tasted defeat last time out, losing a spilt decision against Derrick Lewis when they battled in July.

Big John McCarthy got us underway in the first round Silva landing a good body kick, before Roy Nelson looked for his left hook against the fence. Silva was looking the more relaxed fighter early on as he landed a powerful leg kick. Nelson missed with his patented overhand right he looked to circle away from 'Bigfoot'. Nelson landed a decent right hand which looked as if it caught Silva. Silva defended a single leg well from Nelson as both men made their way to the fence. With 30 seconds left in the round, Nelson dug deep for a double leg, which Silva defended as both men were happy to take things to the second round.

The second round started with Silva landing another good body kick as Nelson looked to keep his distance. Antonio Silva landed a good right hook which momentarily wobbled the American. Silva then rushed on Nelson and brought the fight to the fence for a moment or so. Nelson was loading up on his strikes with Silva ducking and weaving well to avoid the shots. Nelson landed a powerful jab which snapped the head of Silva as he kept his guard low. Moments later, Nelson landed a huge counter uppercut which sent Silva to the mat and then followed up with 5 huge strikes from the top, before John McCarthy stepped in to end the fight.
