Ji Yeon Kim vs. Alexa Grasso Rescheduled for UFC Event on August 29th.

A flyweight matchup between prospect, Ji 'Fire Fist' Yeon Kim and division debutante, Alexa Grasso is set to be rebooked for a UFC event on August 29th. - with a location and venue yet to be announced by the promotion. Kim and Grasso were initially scheduled to meet on June 27th. - but are now slated to meet later this year, after the former suffered an injury.

South Korea native, Kim will look to add Grasso to her winning-run, following a knockout of Nadia Kassem at UFC 243 in August. In her first outing since UFC Fight Night Mexico City back in September, Grasso looks to bounce back from a razor-thin split decision loss to inaugural strawweight best, Carla Esparza. News of the reworked bout was first reported by Solo MMA on Twitter.

Kim will make her sixth Octagon appearance, following her debut at UFC Fight Night Kallang in June of 2017. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt debuted with a unanimous decision loss to Lucie Pudilová, before a pair of split judgings of her own followed opposite, Justine Kish, and Melinda Fábián. Prior to her above-noted stoppage of Australian upstart, Kassem - Kim dropped another unanimous decision loss, this time against kickboxer, Antonina Shevchenko.

Guadalajara youngster, Grasso - competed four times under the Invicta FC banner before her transition to the UFC, scoring four straight wins to boot. In her first Octagon walk, Lobo Gym mainstay, Grasso scored a unanimous decision win over Heather Jo Clark. In her first professional blemish, the 26-year-old lost to Felice Herrig, before rebounding with a close win over longtime contender, Randa Markos. Before a statement performance opposite one-time title challenger, Karolina Kowalkiewicz - Grasso dropped a rear-naked choke defeat to surging contender, Tatiana Suarez.

Both Kim and Grasso have experienced high-profile weight mishaps in their most recent steps to the scales, with the former twice tipping the limit at 128-pounds, and 130.5-pounds, against Kassem and Shevchenko, respectively. Grasso, on the other hand, was removed from a high-stakes meeting with former title challenger, Cláudia Gadelha at UFC 246 in January, as she missed the strawweight mark by five and a half pounds. Grasso ultimately announced her decision to move to flyweight for her next outing.
