Clay Guida vs. Bobby Green Set for UFC Fight Night Vegas on June 20th.

A lightweight pairing between former Strikeforce lightweight champion, Clay 'The Carpenter' Guida, and fellow veteran, Bobby 'King' Green is slated to feature at UFC Fight Night Vegas on June 20th. - with the UFC APEX facility in Nevada set to host the card.
Guida, 38, dropped a first-round guillotine loss to fellow longtime contender, Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night Newark in August - following a win over former UFC lightweight and welterweight best, B.J. Penn. Green, on the other hand, will attempt to bring an end to a two-fight skid, having dropped a decision to Francisco Trinaldo at UFC Fight Night São Paulo in November. Guida confirmed the pairing on his official Instagram account.
Making his professional bow back in July of 2003, Guida will make a staggering fifty-fifth professional outing. The Illinois native won the inaugural Strikeforce 155-pound title against Josh Tompson, before dropping the championship to Gilbert Melendez in his first attempted title defence. In a career spanning seventeen years, the renowned submission and knockout artist has managed wins over the likes of Nate Diaz, Joe Lauzon, Anthony Pettis, Takanori Gomi, Rafael dos Anjos, Mac Danzig, as well as the aforementioned Penn, and Thomson to name a few.
Making his thirty-seventh professional walk, California native, Green will feature in the Octagon for the twelfth time. The 33-year-old also competed under the now-defunct Strikeforce banner - amassing a 4-1 record in the promotion. Green, a former KOTC junior welterweight, and lightweight titleholder holds seventeen finishes in his career, dating back to January of 2008. The Icon Mixed Martial Arts trainee holds notable victories over the likes of Erik Koch, Daron Cruickshank, the aforementioned, Josh Thomson, James Krause, Pat Healy, and Charles 'Krazy Horse' Bennett.
