A flyweight pairing between division prospect, and strawweight striker, Mariya Agapova, and Hannah 'Shockwave' Cifers is set for a short-notice matching at UFC Fight Night Vegas this weekend, at the UFC APEX facility in Nevada.

Kazakhstan native, Agapova was initially scheduled to meet with Melissa Gatto this Saturday night, until travel issues prevented the Brazilian from making the event. In a quick turnaround, North Carolina native, Cifers will replace Gatto - having lost to her compatriot, Mackenzie Dern via kneebar just ten days ago. Multiple sources close to MMA Power Hour confirmed the matchup following an initial report from Combate writer, Raphael Marinho.

With the opportunity to still make her Octagon bow as scheduled - American Top Team trainee, Apagova will attempt to make it three wins in three. With finishes of Alexa Connors, and Marilia Santos last year, Agapova signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC. Before her current win-streak, Agapova dropped a unanimous judging to Tracey Cortez on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series back in July last year. The 23-year-old holds a 8-1 professional record, taking six stoppage wins in the process.

Cifers, 27 - will test flyweight waters for the first time in her career, with the short-notice tie. Hoping to prevent a third consecutive loss, the striker is 2-3 in the organization, following a debut defeat to fellow prospect, Maycee Barber - before two decision wins over Polyana Viana, and Jodie Esquibel. Before the defeat to Roufusport's, Barber - Cifers had amassed five straight victories.
