Kazakhstan native, Mariya Agapova certainly isn't wasting time on her UFC stint. Just last weekend, the 23-year-old made her Octagon debut, taking a stunning rear-naked choke win over short-notice replacement, Hannah 'Shockwave' Cifers. Agapova is back in action on August 22nd. - as she takes on Shana 'Danger' Dobson in Las Vegas.

Agapova was initially scheduled to meet with Melissa Gatto in her first walk under the UFC banner until travel restrictions prevented the Brazilian from competing at the UFC APEX facility on June 13th. The victory over Cifers marked the division prospects third consecutive win. Dobson, on the other hand, will attempt to score her premier UFC win in three years, following three straight blemishes. Sources close to MMA Power Hour confirmed the matchup, after an initial report from, Raphael Marinho from Combate.

Before embarking on her three-fight winning run, Agapova featured on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series back in July of last year, dropping a unanimous decision loss to Tracey Cortez. Prior to her above-noted win over Cifers, the grappler lodged wins over Alexa Connors, and Marilia Santos.

Florida native, Dobson will attempt to improve on her so far, 1-3 record in the promotion. In her sole win during her four-fight stint with the UFC, the 31-year-old managed a win over Ariel Beck back in December of 2017 - before losses to Lauren Mueller, Sabina Mazo, and Priscila Cachoeira. Dobson plys her trade under the Elevation Fight Team banner in Colorado.
