A bantamweight pairing of Karol Rosa and Julia 'Raging Panda' Avila has fallen to the wayside for the fifth time. With reasons currently undisclosed, Rosa has been forced to withdraw from the tie - with Alaska native, Gina 'Danger' Mazany making her Octagon return on short notice, to take on California born striker, Avila at UFC Fight Night Vegas on June 13th.

Avila will attempt to make her first Octagon outing since a July victory over TUF 28 finalist, Pannie Kianzad - in what served as her first walk under the UFC banner. After leaving the promotion back in January, Mazany featured in KOTC taking a first-round knockout of Valerie Barney in a lightweight pairing. News of the short notice matching was initially reported by MMA Junkie reporters, Farah Hannoun and Nolan King.

Avila, 32, began her professional career back in 2012, and before even signing with the UFC, took victories over, Marion Reneau, and inaugural UFC flyweight best, Nicco Montaño. With a 7-1 record, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, Avila, is currently riding a three-fight win streak, bookended with her aforementioned Octagon bow victory over Kianzad.

Anchorage native, Mazany, suffered a tumultuous time with the promotion during her initial stint. Despite scoring a unanimous decision win over Yunan Wu at UFC Fight Night Shanghai in November of 2017- the 31-year-old dropped defeats to one-time bantamweight title challenger, Olympic silver medalist, Sara McMann, as well as Lina Länsberg, and TUF 28 tournament victor, Macy Chiasson. Mazany made her Octagon debut back in February of 2017 - arriving in the promotion off the back of four consecutive wins in her first-four contests.
