A lightweight clash between former BAMMA Lonsdale British lightweight titleholder, Marc 'Bonecrusher' Diakiese, and veteran grappler, Alan 'Nugette' Patrick is set for a UFC 'Fight Island' event on July 18th. - with Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE expected to host the card.
Diakiese, 27, will look to extend his winning streak to three fights - following the cancellation of UFC Fight Night London, where he was first paired with Stevie Ray, before a matching with former Cage Warriors lightweight best, Jai Herbert fell to the wayside. São Paulo native, Patrick will make his first outing since UFC 229 in October of 2018 - where he dropped a knockout to Scott Holtzman. Patrick announced the pairing on his official Twitter account.
Doncaster native, Diakiese seems to have finally settled into the promotion, following a string of three consecutive losses. In a splendid year last annum, Diakiese took unanimous decision judgings over Joe Duffy, and Lando Vannatta, in London and Copenhagen respectively. Diakiese scored a highlight-reel knockout of Teemu Packalén in the capital, the year prior.
36-year-old veteran, Patrick seen his three-fight rise halted by Holtzman last time round. Before the blemish, the X-Gym trainee defeated Damir Hadžović, Stevie Ray, and RIZIN FF lightweight contender, Damien Brown. Patrick debuted in the promotion back in October of 2013, taking a knockout triumph over Garreth Whiteley, before a decision win over John Makdessi. In his only other organizational loss, Patrick dropped a defeat to Mairbek Taisumov.
