Ketlen Vieira vs. Yana Kunitskaya Booked for UFC Event on August 1st.

A bantamweight pairing between top-ten contenders, Ketlen 'Fenômeno' Vieira, and Yana 'Foxy' Kunitskaya has been added to a UFC event on August 1st. - with a location or venue yet to be confirmed by the promotion.

Attempting to rebound from a stunning first-round knockout defeat to Irene Aldana at UFC 245 in December, Manaus native, Vieira will make her sixth Octagon walk. Former Invicta FC bantamweight best, Kunitskaya is also hoping to return to winning ways, following a third-round stoppage at the hands of perennial contender, Aspen Ladd at UFC Fight Night D.C. - also in December. News of the pairing was initially reported by MMA Junkie reporter, Farah Hannoun.

Vieira, 28, dropped her first-ever professional loss to Aldana in December, following a string of ten consecutive victories. Arriving in the UFC back in 2016, Vieira would debut with a close split decision win over Kelly Faszholz, before wins over Ashlee Evans-Smith, and former title challengers, Sara McMann, and Cat Zingano followed.

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo black belt was scheduled to meet with Marion Reneau on the first instalment of UFC 250 in May, in her native Brazil - until the card was initially relocated, and then shelved amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Since her arrival in the promotion back in March of 2018, Russian striker, Kunitskaya has so far established a 2-2 record. In her first promotional outing, the 30-year-old unsuccessfully tackled then featherweight best, Cris Cyborg. In an immediate drop to a more comfortable bantamweight home, Kunitskaya hit the ground running with wins over Lina Länsberg, and the above-mentioned, Reneau.

Meeting with Raquel Pa'aluhi in August of 2017 - Kunitskaya claimed the vacant Invicta FC bantamweight crown, via a unanimous decision shutout.
