Makwan Amirkhani vs. Danny Henry Booked for UFC 251

A featherweight matchup between Makwan 'Mr. Finland' Amirkhani and Danny 'The Hatchet' Henry is set to feature at UFC 251 on July 11th. at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In his first outing since a third-round knockout loss to 'Hurricane' Shane Burgos at UFC 244 in November, Amirkhani will attempt to move to 6-2 in under the promotion's banner. Edinburgh native, Henry will make his fourth Octagon appearance - also attempting to rebound from a defeat, following a first-round submission loss to featherweight contender, Dan Ige at UFC Fight Night London last March. News of the clash was initially reported by, Kurdish MMA on Instagram.

Amirkhani, 31, debuted in the promotion back in January 2015 at UFC Fight Night Stockholm, taking a stunning, eight-second flying knee followed by strikes knockout of Andy Ogle. Extending his unbeaten run to three, the Iranian-born submission-artist managed wins over Masio Fullen, and Mike Wilkinson. Against fellow prospect, Arnold Allen, Amirkhani dropped a close split decision; his first loss in the UFC.

His aforementioned loss to Burgos snapped a two-fight rise, which included wins over former Cage Warriors lightweight champion, Chris Fishgold, and organization alumnus, Jason 'The Kid' Knight.

Former EFC Worldwide featherweight titleholder, Henry, made his first UFC walk - on home soil at UFC Fight Night Glasgow back in July of 2017. The 31-year-old debuted with a unanimous decision win over Swedish kickboxing champion, Daniel Teymur. In a statement performance, Henry clashed with 'Mean' Hakeem Dawodu, scoring a guillotine win inside just forty-seconds of the opening-frame. The previously noted loss to Ige snapped a five-fight unbeaten run.
