Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes then produced a massive tackle on Olivier Giroud who was one on one against Neuer. Just before half time, a corner from France resulted in a penalty. Schweinsteiger was adjudged to have handled the ball an Antoine Griezmann fired home form the spot to give Framce the lead in the last action of the half. Then with 20 minutes to go, Antoine Griezmann got his 6th goal of the tournament to put the result firmly beyond doubt and put himself top of the Golden Boot table. Germany were desperate to find a way back into the match and Julian Draxler nearly found the net with a free kick that just flashed past Lloris' post. With just minutes to go, Lloris produced an outstanding save to maintain the 2-0 lead and help France to a home final at Stade de France against Portugal on Sunday.
