Miocic V Overeem: How it will go down

UFC 203's main event sees American Stipe Miocic defend his UFC Heavyweight Championship for the first time against veteran Dutch kick boxer Alistair 'The Reem' Overeem. Miocic will defend his title in his home town of Cleveland, Ohio. Miocic shockingly won the title from Fabricio Werdum in Brazil to the disappointment of the home town faithful. Werdum can be accused of being rather clumsy in that title defence as he rushed at Miocic with his hands down, even though Miocic is a brutal knockout artist. Werdum was clipped by Stipe and was knocked out and the MMA world was stunned. Overeem last fought teammate Andrei Arlovski at UFC Rotterdam and recorded a fantastic knockout victory over the former UFC champion to warrant this title challenge. Overeem, a former K-1 champion, Strikeforce champion and DREAM champion could certainly be argued as the greatest heavyweight of all time if he defeats Stipe to become a 4 time heavyweight champion. Overeem possesses tremendous knockout power and crippling kicks, which he utilised cleverly against the returning Brock Lesnar, as when they fought, Lesnar was returning from surgery on his intestine as he suffers from diverticulitis and Overeem brutally targeted Lesnar's body with kicks and knees before defeating the WWE superstar. Overeem can be questioned on his durability with Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva knocking he unconscious with ease when they battled. Stipe will look to utilise his boxing background and finish Overeem on the feet and in my opinion gets the victory over 'The Reem' before possibly facing Fabrico Werdum in a rematch, or depending on Brock Lesnar's and Cain Velasquez's performances at UFC 200, either one of those.
