UFC 200: Prelims: What just happened.

Sage Northcutt V Enrique Marin: 'Super' Sage Northcutt takes on Enrique 'Wasabi' Marin in the first prelim of UFC 200. Northcutt will look to prove his doubters wrong with an impressive victory over Marin. Northcutt controversially told how Bryan Barberena's rear naked choke victory was a 'fluke' and has lost some fans with that statement. The first round began with Sage landing a good head kick and left hand. Another high kick landed for Sage as Markn was put under pressure. Marin looked to take it to the ground, an area that Sage struggled with. Marin landed the single leg but Sage made it in top looking for side control. Sage then in half guard looked to find the early win. Northcutt then landed some good knees and Marin was takendown by the youngster. Sage then again from the back looked to finish with Marin surviving till the second round. Round 2 began with Marin looking to cut off the octagon but Sage landed a good 1-2 combination and a good front leg side kick. Sage then took the fight to the ground. Marin then looked for an armbar and nearly made Sage tap but the young prospect escaped. Marin again looked for an armbat but Sage defended well. Marin then tried and failed with a kimura before the round ended. The third and final round seen Sage land a good right hand as he looked to keep the fight on the feet. Marin then managed another takedown The two men then clinched at the cage with Marin getting a takedown eventually. Marin scored another takedown out wasn't doing much when he got Sage to the ground in this round. Sage then rolled into full guard with 15 seconds to go in the final round as they went the distance. Sage Northcutt did enough to convince the judges as he bounced back from his loss to Bryan Barberena.

T.J. Dillashaw V Raphael Assunçao: Former UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw squared off against Raphael Assuncao for a second time with the Brazilian earning a controversial split decision win. Dillashaw last fought and lost to Dominick Cruz as the retuning American took his championship. Round one seen T.J. display his fantastic movement and both men looked cautious in the opening minute. Dillashaw and Assuncao exchange good leg kicks with Dillashaw landing a good overhand right. Dillashaw narrowly avoided a huge knee from Raphael as Dillashaw again punished Assuncao's leg. Dillashaw then landed a good jab as the round drew to its climax before Dillashaw landed a good high kick. The second round seen T.J. landing a good combination. Then the American landed a huge straight right hand stunning Assuncao. A right hand again landed by Dillashaw who began to tag Assuncao. Dillashaw then seen a ducking roundhouse blocked by Raphael. Dillashaw was the take down but got up straight away. The doctor then came in to check Assuncao and declared him fit to continue as the round ended. The final round seen Dillashaw again chopping down those legs. Dillashaw then again went back to that overhand right as he was finding more and more success with it. T.J. then just missed with a right hook as he defended the takedown. Dillashaw then landed a huge takedown that may just guarantee the victory. The judges gave Dillashaw a 30-27 decision win.

Jonny Hendricks V Kelvin Gastelum: Former UFC Welterweight champion Jonny 'Big Rig' Hendricks took on Ultimate Fighter star Kelvin Gastelum as he looks to climb the rankings and put himself in line for a title shot. Interestingly Hendricks missed weight and was ordered to give 20% of his fight purse to Gastelum. Kelvin opened with a good jab and combination before tagging Jonny again. Gastelum lit Hendricks up with a big left hand and was looking for it frequently. Kelvin looked to have stunned Hendricks and had him rocked before Hendricks made it to the clinch. The round ended with a flurry from both men. Round two Hendricks very aggressive but Kelvin was cutting off the octagon. Hendricks then caught Kelvin's leg and found a good overhand left before searching for the takedown. Jonny then landed a  good combination as he looked to win this round. Kelvin was landing well against the cage before Hendricks escaped, as the second round ended with a leg kick for Gastelum. The third and final rouse seen the two men exchange well Kelvin finding his form. Hendricks then found a shot to the body and head while Kelvin was retreating. Hendricks looked drained in the final two minutes with Gastelum being the hammer and Hendricks the nail. Hendrick found a takedown both Kelvin was straight back to his feet. Gastelum landed some huge shots as they went the distance. Kelvin Gastelum earned a huge victory over the former welterweight champion.

Cat Zingano V Julianna Pena: Former title contender Cat Zingano takes on 'The Venuzealan Vixen' Julianna Pena with the Cat coming off a loss to Ronda Rousey. Zingano holds two substantial knockout wins in her career against champion Miesha Tate and challenger Amanda Nunes. The opening round seen Zingano the aggressor and landing a takedown and wound up in side control. Cat then landed a second takedown but Pena got it back to the feet before taking it to the ground herself. Pena lost the guillotine attempt but punished from the bottom. Cat landed some good strikes from the top as the round ended. Round 2 seen Zingano land a beautiful throw into full guard. Cat let Pena get back to her feet but then threw her brilliantly to the canvas again. Pena escaped a triangle attempt from Zingano. Julianna easily took her back as she tried a rear naked choke attempt but Zingano held on. Julianna looked for a neck crank but Zingano defended well as the round ended. The third and final round seen Pena land a huge takedown took side control raining down with elbows. Cat tried to scramble but Pena stayed dominant on the top. Pena then looked for that neck crank from the back position. Zingano then escaped a rear naked choke attempt as Pena looked to be taking the fight and swaying the judges. They went the distance with Julianna Pena beating Cat Zingano by unanimous decision.
