Former UFC Bamtamweight champion Holly Holm takes on highly regarded Valentina Shevchenko as 'The Preachers Daughter' looks to claim her stake as the next challenger for the Bantamweight championship. The first round began with both fighters looking cautious. Holm opened with a oblique kick as she looked to close the distance. Holm then scored a knockdown but Shevchenko recovered. The second round then seen a similar approach with both acting cautiously. They then engaged in a clinch as Holm was stumbled from the exit. Holm then connected with a good side kick to the body. Shevchenko was then stumbled from a leg kick. The third round began with a cautious approach. Shevchenko then took top postings landing her third takedown. The fourth round seen a side kick from Holm land to Shevchenko's mid section. With half of the round past us, they were both plotting for a finish. Holm then defended a single leg takedown from Shevchenko. The fifth and final round seen Shevchenko countering Holm in the opening stages. Shevchenko then landed with a good back kick to the head as Holm looked off balance. Both athletes went for broke in the final minute as they looked to convince the jisges of their victory. The fight went to decision with Valentina Shevchenko winning by decision to cause a huge upset against the former champ to surely warrant a title shot.
