José Aldo V Frankie Edgar: What just happened

Josê Aldo V Frankie Edgar: Former foes José Aldo and Frankie Edgar reignite their rivalry for a second bout, with the UFC Interim Featherweight Championship on the line. Also was stops by Conor McGregor after just 13 seconds in last December as he lost his title. Edgar comes of a first round knockout of Chad 'Money' Mendes. Aldo won the first bout between the pair by a controversial  split decision. It will be interesting to see which Aldo shows up to night with the winner of this bout most certainly taking on 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor in a unification bout. One things for sure, Frankie's gas tank isn't going to run out and that he will definitely look to utilise his superior wrestling. Aldo will be gunning for a rematch the Dubliner and Edgar wants to be the man to take McGregor's title. 'The Answer' made his run to the octagon looking calm and confident as the former UFC Lightweight champion looks to follow Randy Couture and B.J. Penn as the third man to win a title in two different decisions. Aldo will look to prove his doubters wrong against Edgar tonight as he relishs a rematch with McGregor. Aldo looked very similar to the way he made his walk against McGregor but will be hoping to last longer than 13 seconds this time round. Aldo's devastating leg kicks may be displayed again against Edgar after he utilised them so well against Urijah Faber in WEC. Aldo looked like his old self in terms of physicality. The opening round of 5 seen Edgar open with a leg kick and applied the opening pressure. Both men looked cautious in the opening minute. Edgar landed an early combination and leg kicks. Aldo stuffed an early single leg takedown attempt as the Brazil native looked calm and composed. Also was caught with his guard down and was just barely clipped by the New Jersey man. Aldo then landed a good straight right on Edgar's chin. A good knee by the Brazilain as the last 10 seconds seen a flurry of punches and knees. The second round Aldo slipping a high kick. Frankie is finding a home for those calf kicks. Aldo then with a knee caught Edgar. Aldo was then tagged by Edgar's right hand while backing up. Aldo then defended another single leg. Aldo then caught him with a right of his own. Aldo defended another single leg attempt. Edgar then landed a switch kick. Aldo defended a third single leg at the end of the second. The third round seen Edgar landing a right hand early. Edgar was denied another takedown by Aldo as the two clinched. On the break, Aldo are two straights from Edgar. Aldo shook Edgar with a right before Edgar retuned the favour. Also was landing good knees to the body as Edgar looked for a takedown. Aldo towards the end of the round found a place for that knee and then threw his first heavy leg kick. Round four opened with Edgar catching Aldo with 2 left hands. Edgar then found a good kick to the body. He then reverted to leg kicks. Edgar then landed a good right and left hook. Aldo then started to land rights and lefts. Aldo was looking outstanding using his head movement brilliantly. Aldo then tagged Edgar as he looked for a high kick. The fifth and final round seen Aldo swinging for the fences. Aldo then tagged Edgar with a left hook. Another high kick landed for Aldo. Aldo seen a straight right land on Edgar's nose. Aldo was catching Edgar every time he rushed forward. Edgar seen a wheel kick miss the mark as they went the distance. The judges made their decision and named José Aldo as the UFC Interim Featherweight champion and immediately called upon Conor McGregor telling how he will beat him next time they fight.
