Spurs snap up Dutch forward Janssen.

Tottenham are on the verge of signing Dutch striker Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar for a fee in of £18.8 million. Janssen is expected to complete a medical later today and will join Victor Wanyama who signed from Southampton earlier in the summer. Janssen had a wonderful season for the Dutch side scoring 27 goals to claim the Eredivisie golden boot. Spurs have fought off the advances of Wolfsburg and Paris Saint Germain who are looking for a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede joined Manchester United on a free transfer. Janssen will become the clubs 4th most expensive signing, eclipsing Paulino who signed from Corinthians for £17 million before being sold to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande for £9.9 million after an unsuccessful spell at White Hart Lane. Janssen is expected to provide competition for golden boot winner Harry Kane, or we may see him partner the English man in Mauricio Pochettino's side.
