Liverpool agree fee for Newcastle's Wijnaldum

Jurgen Klopp looks set to add Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum to his Liverpool squad after Newcastle accepted a bid of £25 million. Wijnaldum was one of Newcastle's bright sparks from last season after the Tyneside club were relegated. The departure of Wijnaldum could signal a mass exodus at St. James park with French star Moussa Sissoko and Alexander Mitrovic linked with a move to Spurs and Arsenal respectively, but Newcastle are set to demand a £30 million offer for Sissoko. Juventus are believed to have identified either Moussa Sissoko or Chelsea's Nemanja Matic as a suitable replacement for apparent Manchester United bound Paul Pogba. Wijnaldum was of Tottenham interest but it now seems Liverpool have beaten the London club to Newcastle's top scorer last season with 11 goals. Wijnaldum signed for £15 million from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and he will now warrant a £10 million profit for Newcastle. Wijnaldum is expected to have a strenuous medical before signing a five year deal at Anfield.
