Paris Saint Germain sign former Newcastle ace Hatem Ben Arfa

With the departure of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the PSG board have completed the free signing of French playmaker Hatem Ben Arfa from Nice to raise the spirits of the dampened fans. Ben Afra, a graduate form the Lyon academy joins the Ligue 1 champions after a wonderful season for Nice where he found the net 18 times for the Riviera club. Premier League fans will remember the  29 year old from his spell with Newcastle United where he had is moments of sheer brilliance but could be accused of inconsistency and was unlucky with injuries disrupting his form and rhythm at the Tyneside club. Ben Arfa was subject to interest from Premier League champions Leicester City and Claude Peul's Southampton, but eventually chose to join manager less PSG on a 2 year contract, mostly to the disappointment of former club Olympique Lyon who had hoped to gain his signature.
